Romania Black Sea

Two Russian patrol vessels entered Romania's exclusive economic zone in the Black Sea. This was confirmed by the Bucharest Ministry of Defense in a statement. Russian ships were observed in the area of naval platforms for gas extraction. However, according to the ministry, the vessels belonging to the Russian Black Sea fleet found themselves at a considerable distance from the Ana and Uranus gas extraction platforms. The Romanian armed forces have not taken any action against them, taking into account the fact that the presence of warships and merchant ships is not prohibited in this area.

Russian ships are believed to be monitoring the situation in the Snake Island area, belonging to Ukraine and relatively close to the two offshore platforms. A photo released by the Bucharest Department of Defense shows that one of the two ships has a helicopter on board and the second a Tor-M2KM air defense system.
