The allocation for the construction of centers for migrants in Albania "is certainly lower than what emerged in some press outlets". This was stated by the Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi, during the question time in the Chamber on the opportunities of allocating financial resources for the creation of structures abroad for migrants seeking asylum, as part of the recent Protocol between Italy and Albania. “The clarification of resources is underway in ministerial structures, but they must be seen as investments in the management of migration policies. There will then be compensation for the costs weighing on the reception system due to the massive arrivals of migrants,” she added.

The minister stated that there are over 28 thousand sensitive targets in Italy. “The situation determined by the difficult international context is such as to require a very high level of attention, as the terrorist threat often presents itself in an impalpable, fluid and not always definable manner.

I therefore immediately ordered the strengthening of all observation and control devices relating to sensitive objectives present on the national territory. In the session of the National Committee for Public Order and Security on 10 October, possible threats and prevention and combating tools were explored in depth", he added.

Crying himself stated that the enforcement activity “has also made it possible to carry out measures aimed at removing dangerous subjects from the national territory. In 2023, 67 measures were carried out, 17 of which since 7 October". “Since January 2023, 14 people have been arrested who had become radicalized and who in some cases had significant contacts with terrorist organizations referable above all to the self-proclaimed Islamic State,” he added.
