On the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “we are running like crazy to make up for delays, with construction sites in some cases stopped for 30 years. We are spending the money for social housing, for aqueducts, for high-speed rail and for newer and safer cities, and we will spend it all, down to the last euro”. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructures and Transport told Tg1, Matteo Salvini.
Regarding the new Procurement Code, the Minister of Infrastructure said: “I want to get work, work, work. We have cut bureaucracy, we are giving more space to small and medium-sized enterprises, especially Italian ones, and we are trusting mayors, freelance professionals and entrepreneurs. One year less for construction sites and contracts means more work for our workers”. And he added: “There are professionals of the no, in Italy. No Tav, no Bridge, no Expo, no Pedemontana, no cars, no gas, no nuclear power. I work for yes. Italy needs infrastructure, less bureaucracy, more work, faster procurement and I'm sorry for the lords of no. In this ministry they sent me to open construction sites, roads, highways, ports, airports and railways".
