Udine is the province on the podium of the 34th survey of the "Sole 24 Ore" which measures the quality of life of cities, followed by Bologna and Trento. Foggia returns last and the South populates the last places, where nine territories from the Center and North also slip. Milan confirms eighth place, Florence drops to sixth place, Rome is 35th (and loses four positions), followed by Turin (36th) and Genoa (47th), down 20 positions.

Also in the top ten Monza and Brianza which achieved 14 positions and first place in the "Wealth and Consumption" category thanks to good results in average household spending on the purchase of durable goods and real estate data. If Verona closes the top 10, having dominated it both in 2020 and 2021, the absences of Trieste and Bolzano are particularly notable, falling to 12th and 13th position respectively. This edition also shows a concentration of Southern Italy in the second half of the ranking, with the only exception of Cagliari which comes in 23rd place. Venice loses 12 positions and finishes in 32nd place. Finally, the ranking sees Syracuse on the penultimate step (104th, -14 positions) and Naples third from last (105th, -7 positions).
