More than five thousand ex-Russian convicts have been pardoned after ending their contracts to fight in the Wagner mercenary group in Ukraine. This was announced by the founder of the Wagner group, Yevgeny Prigozhin.
“Right now, more than 5 people have been pardoned after completing their contracts with Wagner,” Prigozhin said in an audio posted to Telegram.
Prigozhin said that only 0,31 percent of those pardoned after fighting for the Wagner group subsequently committed a crime, a figure he says is 10 to 20 times lower than standard indicators.
