"We have really done everything possible and also the French colleagues, whom we thank, have done everything possible to reactivate at least a procedure that had been interrupted for years, indeed I would like to say never managed". This was stated by the Minister of Justice, Carlo Nordio, in the episode of "Porta a porta", broadcast this evening on Rai1, regarding the decision of the French Court of Cassation which said no forever to the extradition of ten former Italian terrorists, operating in the years of lead.
“We will really do our best to continue our legitimate expectation in favor of the victims awaiting justice. I can assure you that if there is the slightest possibility of taking the situation back in hand, we will do so as soon as possible", added the executive representative, who observed on a possible appeal to the Court of Human Rights: "It is not a easy path, because a decision of the Cassation like this is a very heavy stone. However, in the intricacies of this international legislation and the agreements between states, it is possible that there is a sort of glimmer of hope, to get this irrational, as well as immoral, situation back in hand".
