In a post on her X profile (formerly Twitter) Adraee said: “Consider this as a definitive warning (…) you are all objective.” The spokesperson added that Hamas members have two options: “Surrender and lay down their arms or survive and face a fate similar to that of Wissam Farhat and Younis Mushtaha,” referring to two Shuja'iyya battalion commanders killed in Israeli raids.
Meanwhile, the Italian ambassador to Egypt, Michele Quaroni, has just welcomed the Vulcano hospital ship of the Italian Navy to the Egyptian port of Al Arish, which will treat dozens of wounded Palestinians from the Gaza Strip on board. The operation required a joint effort by the Farnesina, Defense and Intelligence, in close coordination between the Italian embassy in Cairo and the Egyptian authorities.
Defense Minister, Guido Crosetto. “On board operating rooms and clinics in which civilian and military doctors from different countries will treat wounded civilians from the Gaza Strip. Italy, as promised, is doing its part. This is the result of teamwork,” said Crosetto, as reported in a message from his ministry on X.
According to what we learn, on board the vessel, which left Italy last November 8, there are clinics, diagnostic instruments and operating rooms, as well as a crew of 170 people, of which 30 from the Navy, specialized in the management of health emergencies. Health workers from Qatar and the United Arab Emirates will also collaborate with the Italian doctors, while the Red Crescent staff will have the task of identifying people in need of care who can be transferred to the Vulcano either by land, by sea or by helicopter.
The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amirabdollahian, warned the European High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, on the risk of expansion into a regional war if the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas does not stop. This was reported by the Iranian news agency "Irna", specifying that the statement came during a telephone conversation between the two on Saturday night, in which the parties agreed on the need to immediately put an end to the conflict.
Amirabdollahian also stressed the need to send humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip and warned against Israel's alleged plan for the forced migration of Palestinians. Borrell, for his part, said that tensions in Gaza and the West Bank should cease as soon as possible, adding that the European Union is committed to efforts to ensure that Israel respects international law. Again according to "Irna", the High Representative also admitted that Iran plays a role in helping to dampen tensions in the region.
