From politics to diplomacy, without any useless showdown. In these hours, Italy is committed to providing all the useful elements to make the European Union understand, in a scientifically and rationally impeccable way, the importance of including biofuels among green fuels. This is what the Minister of the Environment and Energy Security declares in a note, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin. “We hope that Europe will not prove unreasonable and deaf to the calls that come from a founding country, committed to achieving, even in advance, the objectives that will lead Europe to be an energy-neutral continent by 2050” he adds.
Germany and the European Union have reached an agreement for the future use of synthetic fuels, the vice-president of the European Commission wrote on Twitter in the morning, Frans Timmermans. “We will now work to get the CO2 rules adopted for the passenger car regulation as soon as possible and the Commission will swiftly follow up on the legal steps needed to implement recital 11,” Timmermans explained.
