30The Russian president Vladimir Putin could visit Turkey on 27 April. This was announced by the Turkish head of state, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, speaking to the television station “A Haber”.

Putin's visit could come at the same time as the loading of nuclear fuel at the Turkish Akkuyu plant, which was worked on by the Russian company Rosatom.

In the course of the interview, Erdogan said: “If it weren't for our efforts in the last two years, the West would have dragged Turkey into a war against Russia. While we are in power, we will not allow that to happen." The president added that Turkey intends to play a role of mediator between Russia and Ukraine.
