The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, said he was in favor of sending fighter planes F-16 in Ukraine. "It is a good idea that the G7 has finally decided to prepare the ground to supply Ukraine with the fighter jets it needs," he declared upon his arrival at the Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels. “I think the first thing to do is to proceed with pilot training, in the hope that soon we will be able to supply Ukraine with this type of weapon,” he added.
Borrell also spoke of new sanctions against Iran. "The Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels will approve a new package of sanctions against Iran against human rights abuses," he said. “Recently, three more people were executed. We will adopt this new sanctions package.”
