The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, urged the former president of the United States and leading Republican candidate for the White House, Donald Trump, to immediately disclose the measures that he said could lead to the end of the conflict in Ukraine “within 24 hours”.
“He can share his idea publicly even now, without wasting time, without confusing people, and say: 'My formula is to stop the war and this tragedy and Russia's aggression,'” he told CNN ” the Ukrainian president, adding that Trump “should say how he plans to expel the Russians from our land. If he has other ideas, they do not reflect the global idea of peace”.
Trump has declared on several occasions that if he were re-elected to the White House he would have the means to quickly end hostilities in Ukraine: the former president, who maintains that the priority is to stop the loss of human lives as soon as possible, alluded however, to the need for a negotiation that involves the cession by Kiev of some of the territories occupied by Russia, starting with Crimea.
Zelensky, who spoke yesterday in front of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, reiterated to "CNN" that Kiev does not accept any hypothesis of territorial renunciation: "If the idea is to take part of our territory and give it to Putin, this is not a peace formula,” declared the Ukrainian president.
