THEUkraine may not receive a 50 billion euro financial assistance package from EU countries due to a series of disagreements within the community bloc. This was reported by sources from the British newspaper "Financial Times" according to which the disputes within the EU regarding the allocation of funds to Ukraine are jeopardizing the important promises made to to Kiev a few months ago, just as the flow of financial and military support from the United States effectively stopped due to protracted congressional debates. Several sources of the "Financial Times" report that the member states of the European Union are far from reaching an agreement on the allocation of 50 billion euros for Ukraine.

The EU's efforts to reach a compromise on aid allocation are complicated by the victory in the elections in the Netherlands of the Freedom Party Gert Wilders and by the recent decision of the German Constitutional Court to limit public debt. The sources also underline that discussions on the matter will continue before and during the European Council, which will take place on 14 and 15 December in Brussels. “It is very important that support for Ukraine continues and that we Europeans play an important role in this regard,” said the Belgian Prime Minister Oleksandr De Croo in a comment released to the "Financial Times". An anonymous source from the newspaper also noted that the approval of financial support for Ukraine should be considered a sort of “moment of truth”. “If you say you support Ukraine, you need to take financial responsibility for it,” the source stressed.
