The Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, will pay an official visit to Tunisia next week. This was reported by the presidency of the North African Republic in a note published yesterday evening, after a telephone conversation between the Tunisian head of state, Kais Saied, and the head of the government of Italy.

"The talks concerned the distinct relations between Tunisia and Italy and the strategic relations between Tunisia and the European Union", they explain from the Palace of Carthage, adding that Saied advanced an "initiative to hold a high-level conference between all the countries concerned, in particular the countries of North Africa, the countries of the Sahel and the Sahara and the countries of the northern Mediterranean, to address the causes of irregular migration and put an end to these inhumane conditions”.
