School activities resumed today Libya after they were suspended last September 14th, due to the devastating floods caused by the passage of the sub-tropical cyclone Daniel in the east of the country. This was reported by the Minister of Education of the Government of National Unity (Gun), Moussa al Makrif, stressing that it “will not abandon students in the affected areas.”
On 19 September, the director general of the Educational Facilities Authority, Ali al Quwairah, had said that nearly 114 schools had been severely damaged by the devastating floods that hit eastern Libya between September 10 and 11. These are buildings that housed 189.157 students.
