From 19 pm the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology recorded a seismic swarm in the area of Campi Flegrei, in the gulf of Pozzuoli: the strongest shock was magnitude 3.8. Following the event, the Italian Situation Room of the Civil Protection Department contacted the local structures of the National Civil Protection Service.
The earthquake was felt by the population of the area and in the Fuorigrotta district many took to the streets. Even in the city of Naples, in several neighborhoods, citizens felt the earthquake.
